Vigilante Burn

My Team and I are currently in Restalicë, a small village in Kosovo near the North Macedonia border. There is about 4,700 people in this village; they are 100% Muslim. We will be here in this region for the next 3 weeks.

The journey for a Muslim to become a Christian usually doesn’t happen overnight. So it is a bit harder to help someone take that leap of faith between being a Muslim and a Christian on a short term mission trip. Especially when there is no community and discipleship happening after we leave. Something about the Islam religion is that they believe that Allah speaks to them mainly through dreams. There are many testimonies from past Muslims, who converted to Christianity because of dreams that they had from God.

So, my team talked about what we will do for ministry, and one of the ideas we came up with was to pray every night while everyone sleeps until the morning call to prayer. We pray for them to have visions, or dreams from God. We will pray through the night taking shifts praying for God to show them who Jesus is. Some of us knew it as a prayer burn, and others knew it as a prayer vigil. So, we decided to call it a Vigilante Burn.

I thought it would be a great idea to invite friends, family, and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to pray alongside us. I have created a Google Sheets form for people to sign up on. We (my team, family, and friends) can share it and sign up for a time to pray with us. They are in 30 minute segments for you to pray on your way home from work, while cooking dinner, or during your evening quiet time. My goal is to have this vigil filled up, so we have people all over the world praying alongside us. Just write your name and state abbreviation (e.g. Bradon Upshaw:TX) in the time slot and on the day you would like. The times are in CST since it is in the middle of the US. Please feel free to take more than one time slot. The goal is to have prayer the whole time they are sleeping. Thank you for your time in reading this. Thank you for your time fighting alongside in this Kingdom battle for souls. This is a full on battle between good and evil and the power we have through prayer is such a powerful thing. It costs nothing but a small bit of time, so please hop on over to the form and sign up for a time. Much love to you all! Keep fighting the good fight whether at home or overseas! 1. What a great idea Bradon- to pray for God to give these villagers dreams straight from the Holy Spirit! Love it! Thank you for inviting us into the prayer vigil! When I am back home, Chris and I will look at the list and pick some spots to join you.

  2. This is amazing!! I love how intentional y’all are, and how you’ve included people back home. PROUD! OF! YOU!
