Just wanted to give yall an update! We had worship/Bible study with our team from 10:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. We then prayed as a team from 11:00 P.M. to 12:00 P.M. Then we took hour long prayer shifts from 12 A.M. to 6:00 A.M. One person got to take a 2 hour prayer shift every night. The very first night we started praying as soon as we started praying there was this thick fog that came down on the city; it was so thick that we couldn’t even see the lights that were on the Mosque. There was also another night that there was a fire on the mountain before we went for worship and team prayer, and when we were done praying and beginning our shifts the fire was put out.
We met a bunch of people, while sitting in the various cafes throughout the village. The men and women stayed separate I’m the village, so we followed that and the women stayed inside, went to the market, or to the house of one of the sweet ladies that they had met. We didn’t have a stove or microwave so we had to eat everything that we could just eat without cooking. We ate what we called tube meat, canned tuna fish, and canned liver patè with some bread from the local bakery. Needless to say I don’t need anymore tuna fish, liver patè, or tube meat anymore for the rest of my life because of the massive amounts we had to eat.
It was a blessing to be able to fight for these people in prayer through the night, despite the very nutritious food. We learned that the village we worked at was a completely unreached people group. No Christian had ever gone to this village. We were the first. They were 100% Muslim. It was beautiful that God allowed us to go to this little village. It was a blessing for God to let us be the first missionaries in this little village. God is so Good. I want to thank everyone who signed up for prayer times on the Google sheets. We may never know the impact that our prayers had, and that is okay. God is Good and He is Faithful. Much love to you all! Keep up the Good fight! Let God use you this week. No matter how small it seems, God can work through everyone if you’d just let Him.
I love this. The sacrifice of eating canned and tube meat, praying overnight, and trying to reach an unreached people group all add up to an amazing experience! This village is not completely unreached and longer! Yay!
